We not only outfit the coolest villains and superheroes seen on the big screen, we are considered creative superheroes ourselves, coming to the rescue and reviving the ensemble of comic book characters everywhere!
Birds of Prey - Costume Elements
Outfitting good gals and bad dudes is our forte.
For this year’s blockbuster feature, Birds of Prey, we were brought onboard to capture the comic book styling of Huntress’s tapered, purple goggles worn by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Working with the film’s Costume Department Production Supervisor, we designed and produced a set of sleek, angular goggles that captured the essence of the comic book character.
To further exemplify this look, we engineered the lenses to open by sliding up at an angle and locking in place, mimicking the goggle’s classic horned rims. We custom designed and produced everything to fit Mary using her 3D scanned measurements, resulting in a precise and comfortable fit.
Then suddenly, there came a distress call on the Bat Phone!
The film’s creators came to us in need of a new Black Mask for Ewan McGregor. It had to not only resemble the menacing skull seen in the comics, it also had to be incredibly comfortable for the actor.
Our creative superheroes swooped in to save the day by redesigning AND fabricating the stunning Black Mask within two weeks for Ewan and his stunt double pictured below.
It was a thrill for us to see it come to life on the big screen and to be a part of the first all-female superhero feature to date.
